The term came into common usage in the mid 1990s when a few teachers who had studied with Ashtanga guru Sri K. Pattabhi Jois began to attempt to make what they had learned more accessible to western students.
Power Yoga takes the athleticism of Ashtanga, including lots of vinyasas, but gives each teacher the flexibility to teach any poses in any order, making every class different. With its emphasis on strength and flexibility, power yoga brought yoga into the gyms of America, Europe and Cyprus, as people began to see yoga as a way to work out.

What is exercise if we don’t enjoy it? It becomes something we dread and possibly over time make less of a priority. But what if we add something as simple as a game to change the monotony of how we train? Not only would we see adherence, as all human beings have an innate drive to compete and succeed, but we would also begin to affect the mental and emotional state of a client as well because games are FUN!

HYBRID™ CLASS
You won't be bored when you do HYBRID training. This workout gets your heart rate up and strengthens your muscles at the same time.
You’ll move quickly through 8-10 exercise stations to work different muscle groups with little to no rest between stations. Each station has a different exercise. You may do bicep curls or jump rope for 60 seconds.
You’ll do about 10-25 reps at each station, lasting between 30 seconds and 3 minutes, and then move on to the next station.
To keep things interesting, you can switch up the sequence, swap out different stations, and do it at the gym with equipment, at home with dumbbells and resistance bands, or on a fitness trail by alternating push-ups and squats with brisk walking or biking.
Allow at least 20-30 minutes for the workout. If you're new to the moves, work with a trainer or take a class so you learn how to do each exercise right.
